‘Finding Dory’ has biggest animated opening ever
The film raked in $9.2 million on Thursday, $54.95 million on Friday This release comes 13 years after “Finding Nemo” debuted. So, how much for the weekend, Hold on ‘Finding Dory’ opened to $136.2 million at the North American box office this weekend.
It surpassed the record set by “Shrek the Third,” which opened to $121.6 million in 2007. “Dory” also nearly doubled the opening weekend of its predecessor, 2003’s “Finding Nemo.”
